How You Can Help

The Human Services Center Corporation has several opportunities by which you can support our work.  All contributions to the HSCC are tax-deductible.  The following vehicles are available for your consideration.

Mon Valley Providers Council (MVPC) Annual Fund Drive

Anyone can make a tax-deductible contribution to the HSCC to be designated to the Mon Valley Providers Council's efforts to collectively fill gaps in services with over 70 member agencies throughout the Mon Valley.  Gifts are accepted year-round, and may be mailed to MVPC Annual Fund Drive, 519 Penn Avenue, Turtle Creek, PA 15145.  Check with your employer about matching gift policies.  Details can be found at www.hscc-mvpc.org/annual_fund_drive.htm.

United Way Contributor Choice

The HSCC is a United Way Contributor Choice agency.  All contributions can be designated to our work through code 922 Human Services Center Corporation.

On-Line Giving Through Pittsburgh Gives

This fall we have an extraordinary opportunity to increase unrestricted support to the Human Services Center (HSCC) thanks to a newly improved initiative of The Pittsburgh Foundation – PittsburghGives – Day of Giving.  Your tax deductible contribution on Wednesday, October 13 will ensure that the HSCC receives a portion of $500,000 in matching funds.

Some of you may have tried to donate last year and were met with frustration in the process.  Thanks to our feedback, The Pittsburgh Foundation has made multiple improvements, including:

 ·         The match event has been re-branded as a true Day of Giving, a 24-hour period (October 13 from 12:00 am until 11:59pm) during which any gift contributed in that time will receive a prorated share of the available matching monies. This means that every donor will be matched!

·         Improving the technology by changing vendors.

·         By switching credit card vendors, they brought down the credit card fee for donations from 5% to 2.9%.

·         Reduced the minimum gift from $50 to $25.

We know you understand the services of the HSCC and the needs of those we serve, however if you would like to learn more, you can visit our website at www.hscc-mvpc.org.  The Day of Giving site is www.pittsburghgives.org.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact either of us by phone 412-829-7112 or email at dcoplan@hscc-mvpc.org or aandrews@hscc-mvpc.org!  Thank you for your time and consideration!

How to log on and give to the Human Services Center (HSCC) using PittsburghGives:

The Day of Giving site is www.pittsburghgives.org.

There is no need to login or create a login.

The matching period begins at 12:00 a.m. on October 13 and runs to 11:59 p.m. on October 13.  They have 24 hours to give.

During that time a person can go to www.pittsburghgives.org, click the Day of Giving donate now link (not live yet) and you will get a drop down list of orgs.  You select an organization(s) – the Human Services Center Corporation, fill out their billing/credit card info and check out.  You get a confirmation email for their gift which they can use as their tax receipt.  The gift is to The Pittsburgh Foundation for the Human Services Center Corporation.
